Known nationally as “Team Bowman,” Rick and Doris Bowman, both Certified Trainers in Collaborative Problem Solving®, equip educators, caregivers, and human-service professionals with trauma-informed, neuroscience-based tools that transform behavior by addressing the nervous system — where lasting change begins.
Through keynote presentations, professional development trainings, and consulting work, they help schools and organizations move beyond traditional behavior management toward approaches that build safety, connection, and true skill development. Their work emphasizes practical strategies that support both the adults and the children they serve.
Rick and Doris combine cutting-edge neuroscience with real-world educational experience to help professionals understand behavior through a trauma-informed and nervous-system-aware lens. Their work focuses on shifting from reactive discipline models to approaches that prioritize regulation, connection, and skill building.

Team Bowman are certified in Collaborative Problem Solving®, HeartMath, and other relatable approaches. They are engaging in a way that enables educators, clinicians to apply the approach immediately in schools, clinics, community settings and homes. Their goal is to help adults move from traditional behavior modification approaches toward strategies that support safety, regulation, communication, and long-term problem-solving skills.
Rick and Doris are passionate about supporting those who work daily with individuals experiencing behavioral and emotional challenges. Their audiences include educators, school leaders, therapists, advocates, RBTs, BCBAs, OTs, PTs, SLPs, and other professionals serving children and families.

Together, Rick and Doris bring decades of experience across education, psychology, and trauma-informed practice. Their backgrounds include work as a clinical psychologist, PreK–21 special educator, licensed administrators, and certified trauma and resilience practitioners.

Elisa Brown is a Certified Trainer in Collaborative Problem Solving® who works with youth-facing professionals and parents/caregivers. Through education, training, and coaching, Elisa helps adults broaden their understanding of behavior and incrementally adopt approaches that facilitate change using relational and trauma informed frameworks.
Elisa’s work is grounded in Collaborative Problem Solving® and other non-traditional, non-punitive models of discipline. She believes behavior is communication and leans into the philosophy that kids to well if they can. Elisa is certified to teach the following courses developed by Think:Kids:

Elisa is passionate about supporting professionals and families who are teaching, treating or raising children with challenging behavior. Through Collaborative Problem Solving® training and parent classes, she helps adults understand how to assess a child's neurocognitive skills, identify the problems leading to challenging behavior, and problem solve in ways that support regulation, agency, and the development of executive functioning. Her work emphasizes creating environments where children feel safe, understood, and supported while developing the skills they need to succeed.

Elisa holds a B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine and a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. She is a Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW131623) providing therapy to children, teens and adults under licensed supervision. Her experience spans clinical, educational, and community settings.
As a valued member of HBCC's team, Elisa not only leads trainings, but also provides parent coaching, leads support groups, and facilitates interactive workshops. She also currently serves as HBCC's Executive Director.

*The Collaborative Problem Solving®(CPS) approach is owned and developed by Think:Kids (www.thinkkids.org), a program based in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital(MGH) in Boston, MA. Those CPS Certified receive ongoing supervision from T:K and are independent of MGH.
